About me

I am an African-American genderfluid/genderqueer/gender variant/gender free person (my assigned gender at birth was male). I am a bit eccentric (most of my friends would say that's an understatement) and my interests range from martial arts and motorcycles to /, Afrofuturism, magical realism, traditional African-American folk magic, jurisprudence and critical race studies. Recently, I came out as a genderfluid person at work and to my friends and most family members. I live my life resisting the dominant gender paradigm that one must be either this or that, a "man" or a "woman". I strongly believe that one's identity, including one's gender identity, is simply a continual process of identifying. I have never strongly identified with a "male" gender identity, I cannot say I identify strongly with a "female" gender identity either. In fact, I see both of these "identity boxes" as limiting artificial categories that suppress a full expression of human potential, at least for me they are.
